Lokvaani - Centre for Development Communication LCDC

  • In the year 2018, KMVS initiated the process to restructure the organization. This process included the transformation of the media cell.
  • Lokvaani – Centre for Development Communication {LCDC} was registered in August’2018 as an independent body under the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act 1950 and Society Act 1860.
  • Lokvaani is attempting to reach out to people residing in the remote areas of Kutch. These communities live on the margins – geographically, economically and, socially, they have little interaction among themselves and with citizens in other parts of Gujarat.
  • Lokvaani which uses arts and communication tools to cultivate awareness of human rights and grassroots development in Kutch. Our programs are all approached through the prism of human rights and equality and with a commitment to community participation and outreach. Communication, arts, and culture are local, accessible, adaptable, and engaging. lokvaani works on strengthening grassroots communications through training, and online and offline platforms.
  • In our five years of work, we have entered into projects using different strategies and mediums like community radio and video, film production, campaigns, and training for social action groups.
  • Lokvaani has produced over 40 documentary films, and supported community radio has 800 programs and videos designed for COVID-19 awareness campaigns, training on campaigns, and audio-visual production.
